EMTEC has built a scalable application platform, based on state-of-the-art technology. We work with best-in-class providers like Amazon Web Services and Telit. Additionally, EMTEC utilises a redundant second provider for the telematics and specialist cloud providers for secure database management. Our data is held in secure data centres, with critical components in redundant availability zones.

Currently all vehicle data is transmitted from the in-car telematics device through the 2G/3G network to the cloud-based data integration platform. This data integration platform provides data security, data integrity checking and buffering. Data from the platform is streamed into a high-throughput NOSQL database on Amazon Web Services. The data from the NOSQL database is then distributed into a searchable data store, streamed through data aggregation and the CO2 algorithm, and archived.

The searchable data store delivers data to the web-based dashboard and allows for near real-time tracking of vehicle data such as location and emissions.
